Due to the nature of custom engraving, pricing can vary for each individual project. We’d be happy to quote your project; just email us at info@bicoawards.com. Make sure you include what item you want engraved, what you want engraved on it, quantity, and your contact information.
Artwork: If you want just text engraved, that’s usually pretty straightforward. We can also engrave your own artwork, but there are some things to keep in mind. The best file type is a black and white SVG file. This imports very nicely, and usually turns out well. Graphic formats such as JPG, PNG, PDF, etc. will work, but make sure the quality is good, not too blurry or grainy. Also, remember that the laser is not a color printer. Think of it as a gray scale type of printing, where the output is either black or white. Shades of gray can sometimes be achieved using dithering, or varying density of the black and white dots.
We can open and edit a huge number of file types with our software, so we can help if your desired file is not laser-ready. We also have access to some graphics so we can help you design something if you have an idea, but not the details. There may be an additional charge for design work depending on the project.
Also, if you’re providing your own artwork, we will assume you have the rights to use whatever you send us.
Materials: Our CO2 laser engraves many materials such as wood, plastic, leather, glass and coated metals. The materials engrave differently, so the same engraving may look different on different materials. We can also mark uncoated metals such as aluminum, brass and stainless steel, but the process involves a special coating that is bonded to the metal by the laser. This leaves a nice black mark that is very durable.
Customer-supplied materials: While we always prefer to supply the product to be engraved, we have occasionally worked with customer-supplied product. If you have a customer-supplied product that you want engraved, please be advised that even with the utmost care and precautions, things can and do go wrong. BICO will not be liable for damage to customer-supplied products and may choose not to engrave or mark some customer-supplied items. Please contact us for more details.
